Pannikin has been a friendly Pacific Coast Highway go-to since 1968, with a large selection of hand-roasted coffees, more than 80 types of tea, and scrumptious pastries. Le Papagayo offers alfresco dining on a menu of refined Mediterranean and Latin American fusion cuisine. With an interior that feels like an art gallery and live music every night of the week on its outdoor patio, Le Papagayo is one of the most renowned restaurants in North San Diego County.
Solterra Winery & Kitchen is a hip spot for Mediterranean-style small plates and award-winning Californian wines, while French Corner 101 is a Parisian-style café with delicious espresso blends, fresh baked goods, and French bistro food. Nectarine Grove has a health-conscious menu of breakfast foods, salads, burgers, acai bowls, and pizzas. Nectarine Grove uses locally sourced ingredients and provides many organic and vegan options free of gluten and refined sugars.
In late August, the annual Leucadia Art Walk showcases talented local artists and musicians at venues along Highway 101. Highlights of the Art Walk include live mural painting, a children’s art pavilion, six venues hosting live music, and a craft beer garden. Taste of Leucadia in early April is another popular event centered on Highway 101. Dozens of business along the 101 participate in this event with live music, Sip Stops for local beer and wine tasting, and food tastings at close to 30 local restaurants. Leucadia Farmers’ Market takes place every Sunday at Paul Ecke Elementary School. Along with fresh produce, the 75 vendors that comprise the market offer a variety of gourmet foodstuffs, plants and flowers, and handicrafts from local artisans.

At the base of the steep cliffs lining Leucadia’s oceanfront, the three hidden beaches of Grandview, Beacon’s, and Stone Steps have secluded sands and excellent surf breaks. To Leucadia’s east, the 18-hole Encinitas Ranch Golf Course offers captivating ocean views across the entirety of the course as well as a clubhouse and restaurant with tasty food and patio dining for refueling after a game.
